A visit to the Watershed  at the V & A Waterfront is a must  The Odeon is my favourite store. I love to just stand inside and marvel at the ceramics that have been hand crafted by the very best local designers and artisans in South Africa. The unique, individual plates and bowls from the Wonki Ware collection ensures that no one piece is the same and will bring soulful living into any home. The colours and textures of homeware collections for the kitchen, dining room and bathroom and fabrics, hand woven baskets, pillows, aprons and placemats will send you spinning.

If you find it hard to decide on a particular gift let me make a suggestion- Odeon features a collection of pottery created  by a dedicated group  from the Western Cape using clay sourced from their land. Lovingly made delicious sauces are cooked using locally grown produce and then sealed in these  gorgeous stoneware pots called Bakgat (Literally translated from Afrikaans would mean “baking hole” but more often used as “Alright” or “Awesome!”). The Odeon also has a one-of-a-kind lifestyle book collection published in South Africa  by Quivertree Publishing. They’ll grace any coffee table and be the envy of keen or aspirant gardeners, cooks and designers.

Good news is the Odeon use a shipping company that  encourages more shopping  within its store and other traders in the Watershed.
